I was privileged to meet Don when I and my partner’s son Tom became volunteers at Dartmoor Railway. Don assisted with our training first as TTI’s then later as Guards. Don and I soon became friends and enjoyed chatting together and putting the world to rights. We had several things in common not only Dartmoor Railway but also Model Railways and local government in a non political way. Don was a true gentleman who was kind, generous and thoughtful and cared about people. He loved to talk to visitors to the railway and was always ready to help. I will miss Don greatly and send much love to Sveta and the family at this sad time.
